This is a bittersweet entry to write - we're excited to visit our friends in Mammoth, and so very ready to see our pets, but, oh, so very difficult to say goodbye to everyone in Valdez. It has been a wonderful summer - Terry, John, Copper & Meli made their home feel like our home. Sherry A. & Jim taught us about "full-timers" and introduced us to a whole new group of people. It was also so great and so different to come to a town where we knew where to go and how to get there from "Day One". For Reggie followers, his family came home today - hooray!!!

July 27 Bears and more.....

After dinner last night we took one last drive to the salmon hatchery hoping to see the
mom and her 4 cubs. Instead we saw this very handsome guy.

Pretty drive on Dayville Road.

A bare bear's behind

A fuzzy photo - he never stood still. He was busy munching on the greens.

One of our characters (Odds)

Driving home we watched the community college announcement board. They offer a lot of different courses. These are just a few -

Jeff says that human anatomy definitely interests him - duh.

Say what??? Claustrophobia? Space capsules? Elevators? Fatal Attractions?

Interesting that this is online - "anonymous"  anyone?

The Valdez Boat Basin from the other side.

Notice how high the hydrants are above the road surface. Snow anyone??

2:00 PM at the busiest intersection in town.

It's hard to believe this is our second to last Morning Mountain report.
This summer has gone by much too quickly.
It is a beautiful morning.

July 27, 2011 - not too different.

I saw this ad at the Post Office and realized it's the house around the corner from us.
There is a thing called "truth in advertising" - hmmmm. Yes, it's sunny! Yard, not so sure.

A few photos of Terry & John's wonderful flowers, etc.

This rose hasn't bloomed in 9 years. Amazing what a sunny summer will do!
