We're having internet problems so my Patrick, Fish Filleter Extraordinaire video won't load. I'm trying to compress it - we'll see. In the meantime, here are a few stills (squeamish alert!) plus a little information about Patrick -

Yeah! my video loaded when compressed -

or the Tiny URL

A youtube video - not mine

A very nice article with lots of background information (for example, he has 12 older siblings)

Patrick and a handsome bystander

Poor fish!

The man in the green shirt caught the fish.

They're Sockeye salmon he caught in Chitina.

Someone else's Halibut fillets

After we left Pat, we did a tour of the boatyard. Jeff is fascinated with the boat lift. This boat weighs 60,000 pounds. The lift is capable of lifting 75 tons. This boat was pulled out because the fishermen's nets are getting caught on crevasses on the bottom of the boat. They were epoxying those spots. Their fishing nets are held out by a tender, but occasionally the boat passes over them.

The lift operator (the one with the beard)

On our way back to the apartment, we saw one of the famous/infamous bunnies.

and then we passed the big snow pile. My "kid" couldn't resist the climb.

and here he is!
