Good news. Last night I saw Reggie's house sitter and asked him about Reg. He said he doesn't let Reggie outside very often because he has a hard time getting him to come back inside. I explained that we were worried and the sitter assured me that Reggie was fine. Well, Reg was out this morning, and he does indeed look great.

We had a very interesting time yesterday. A few days ago I posted a photo of the one house still standing at its original site after the 1964 earthquake. It was allowed to remain because it was not in the town proper. On Sunday we visited the owners, Lori and Dan. They are in the process of a major remodel and reconstruction. Dan said that the 50 year moratorium prohibiting building on the old town site is almost expired. It will be interesting to see what happens in that area.

Dan & Lori have to demolish the right side of the house because it is sinking and pulling away from the rest of the house. This is due to a non-existent foundation. They're going to add a larger living area and a large carport. The whole house will be raised because rising tides and surge already reach the house and soak the ground underneath.
Dan is a picture framer (not sure if that's the right terminology) - they are fixing up a small outbuilding to be his man cave - oops, I mean his workshop.
Dan has begun a series called "Windows On Alaska" - it looks wonderful.
He inherited his talent from his Mother - these are some tiles she painted showing the view out of her kitchen window.

Dan & Lori were married a year ago on the patio that now holds their chairs.
On our way back home we drove out to the salmon hatchery. No fish but a lot of eagles.
We also saw this helicopter - no idea what was going on.
Not quite like our evacuation drills at Kure Beach!
