Sunday Pot Luck, Surgery, & evening drinks at "Mike's Palace" - July 21st

Judy and Emmett Bartlett had one of their (in?)famous Sunday Pot Lucks - it was a great chance for us to say good-bye to all the wonderful people we met this summer. As usual the food was fantastic - thank you Sherry A. for the Frog-Eye Salad - Judy's deep fried Halibut has the lightest coating. Yum. This summer will be a hard act to follow people-wise - and weather-wise.

Most of the people in the photos are full-timers in their RV's

Frog-Eye Salad Sherry A. second from left. Jim, Sherry's husband - been there; done that guy. His stories are wonderful. Barbara in shorts - she and her husband run a fishing charter - and Emmett - Chena RV Park owner and a fantastic carpenter.

Everett & Judy's house - btw, the ceiling is almost finished.

Deep-Fried Halibut - delicious

Deep-Fryer and "Pampered" Chef, Judy - co-owner of the RV park and excellent quilter.

After a vigorous afternoon of eating, we went to the office to do an exploratory surgery on Reina, an Anatolian Shepherd. Her intestines in her radiograph looked accordianed, as if she swallowed a string. Luckily it wasn't the case and, good news, she is much better today. Jeff has always joked that some pets just need the air in their abdomen's changed! **Squeamish Alert** If you don't want to see intestines that are perfect and pink, do not look at the third photo below!

After the surgery we (he) needed a break so we went to Mike's Palace (palace not place) at the dock. It's hard to imagine a place with a more beautiful view and hard to imagine sitting outside in Valdez at 9 at night in shirtsleeves.

On the way home we saw two of the Valdez bunnies.

and a cat in our neighborhood we've not seen before.

One family's vehicles.
