Here are some photos of my favorite Valdez store, Rogues Garden. It's a combination Lunch (great soups)/Health Food/Kitchen/Book store. One of my favorites things is you can buy spices from bulk canisters - great for me who'll only be here for two months. No need to buy a jar of McCormicks if I only need a teaspoon of an herb or spice. It's the only "progressive" store in Valdez.
Yesterday's sandwich special - Panini: Black Forest Ham, Swiss, dill pickle, red onion, stoneground mustard. Soup of the day - Vegetable Barley.
I'm waiting for Jeff to get home from work - 1/2 day Wednesday. We're going to shop and buy shorts! Two years ago it never got above 65 - this Saturday they're predicting a high of 79. Needless to say our wardrobes are mostly jeans, long-sleeve shirts and sweaters. Now the big question is if we will find shorts in Valdez - could be interesting.
A lot of snow has melted since you got there. Is it Muddy? Heat index is 104 here, and it is oppressive!!!!
