This looks more like the "Morning Mountain" of 2011!

Yesterday was so pretty - and Wednesday is Jeff's 1/2 day - so we decided to hike part of the Goat Trail. It starts by Bridal Veil Falls (height 800'), a beautiful waterfall in Keystone Canyon, about 15 miles from the town of Valdez. Here's a short video -

The water looks like very thin concrete.

Where Goat trail divides into Pack Trail & Wagon Road

Wagon Trail - note the path traveled vs.

the path NOT traveled!

We had some beautiful rainbow views.

If you look carefully, you can see the balls on the power line above the falls - let's planes know not to sightsee too closely.

Then later in the day.......

Wednesday is an "eat out" night. We were watching the Stanley Cup playoffs... and watching ... and watching, Somewhere around the 2nd overtime we realized it was after 8:00 so we went to "The Fat Mermaid" for drinks and pizza.

When we got there the game was still on; tied at 3- 3; in the third overtime. The fans certainly got their money's worth.

Finally with 7:52 to go, Chicago scored making it the fifth longest game in NFL playoff history, and the eight triple overtime playoff game ever. There hasn't been even a double overtime since 1990. What also made it memorable is that it's a match-up of two of the original 6 NHL teams - the first time that's happened since 1979. Hopefully the rest of the games will be even half as exciting.

What made us smile was thinking of our bleary eyed friends on the East coast getting up this morning after watching a very long, late game. We headed home around 10 wide-awake!

  1. The falls are awesome! Wish I was there. Severe T-storm overhead, but the oppressive heat broke; 74 degrees.
